The Director General of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Civil Aviation Department, Government of India, recognised the Academy of Aviation and Engineering, a strictly technical college founded in 2004, to teach Aircraft Maintenance Engineering courses under the CAR-66 & CAR-147. The Aircraft Act 1934 (XXII to 1934), which was approved by the Indian parliament as well as the Indian government under the aircraft rule, is the source of this need for civil aviation and is outlined in Rules 61 and 133B of the Aircraft Rule 1937.
